Adern is a new company specializing in innovative sound design. We believe that digital sound processing has been compared to analog gear a bit too long. This is why the software we create is not Virtual Analog, but True Digital. Instead of trying to rebuild great analog instruments, we tried to seek what makes them great. We then understood that the approach taken in the building of pioneering analog devices was not of imitation, but innovation.

Digital sound can be extremely musical and versatile. Since music is a form of art, scientific tools aren’t what you would look for to create music (unless you’re making scientific sounding music). You would normally look for a musical instrument with its special characters and behaviors.

To us, these are the goals when making new devices and musical instruments. The search for innovation and musicality.
